Birmingham 2022: Benefits of Sport Posters

By Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK, 2 Aug, 2022 | 1 min read

Inspired by the Commonwealth Games 2022 to help encourage people to get involved in sport, Birmingham City Council has produced a series of posters that highlight sport specific health and wellbeing benefits.

The posters list the various health and wellbeing benefits for a wide range of sports, and are designed to help people choose the type of physical activity that is right for them. The evidence was collated and compiled by Faculty Member and Moving Medicine collaborator Dr Lisa Hyland.

To help engage readers, each poster contains information on ways to get involved in the sport locally, as well as a fun fact about the individual sport and details of how and where to watch related events during the games.

Posters cover sports ranging from badminton, boxing and cycling to swimming, volleyball and wrestling. They are freely available for use by healthcare professionals, sport and leisure centres, schools, colleges and universities, and members of the public.
