FSEM is the professional home for Sport and Exercise Medicine in the UK; we have a growing and engaged membership, we support members across all career stages, enabling them to drive the profession forward and achieve our vision of improving health of the nation.
Membership Options
Find out more about the benefits of each membership option available, as well as the eligibility requirements needed in order to qualify for each one. Entry to Membership and Fellowship of the Faculty can be achieved through the following paths:
Fellowship
Fellowship is available to those who have been accepted onto the Specialist Register in Sport and Exercise Medicine and have successfully passed both the part 1 and part 2 of the FSEM Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Member
Membership is available to those who have successfully passed both the part 1 and part 2 of the FSEM Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Diplomate Membership
Diplomate membership is available to any doctor, allied health professional or equivalent who has passed one of our Diploma examinations.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Associate membership is open to Sport and Exercise Medicine Registrars or trainees, medical undergraduates in the UK and Ireland with an interest in SEM, locums and associated specialists.
HONORARY FELLOWSHIP
The Faculty awards Honorary Fellows who have made an outstanding contribution to Sport and Exercise Medicine across their lifetime or career. This category is not open to applications and Honorary Fellowship is awarded once a year.
Other
We have additional membership options for those who qualify – senior fellowship or membership for fellows and members who no longer receive an income from Medicine; and overseas fellowship or members for those who live outwith the UK.
