Ultrasonography Mentoring Now Available to Members

The Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM) is continuously looking at ways to help Members and Fellows enhance their ultrasound skills. The Faculty now has a list of Consultant MSK Radiologists, via its relationship with the BSSR (British Society of Skeletal Radiologists), willing to help with mentoring FSEM Members and Fellows in ultrasonography.

The FSEM is also planning to have its own ultrasound mentors in place and links to learning material to help develop members’ ultrasound skills. This will include avenues to help gain the required competency in ultrasound guided intervention skills and a variety of CPD days and workshops for SEM Doctors to enrol in following completion of the FSEM Ultrasound Direct Observation of Procedural Skills (DOPS) Clinical Assessment. Further details on suitable learning will be released next year, once the DOPS Clinical Assessment process is underway.

Members can contact the FSEM if they would like to be introduced to an Ultrasound mentor or would like further information about the FSEM’s plans for Ultrasound support and access to learning.
