Social Prescribing Day 2022
This month, our Moving Medicine team came together with organisations and charities from across the UK to celebrate Social Prescribing Day and to recognise the community projects that kept us healthy throughout the pandemic and beyond.
Social Prescribing Day, which fell on 10 March, is an annual celebration of the power of social prescribing. Now in it’s third year, the event is organised by the National Academy of Social Prescribing. The event has generated so much activity in the past that this year the celebrations were extended to cover the week leading up to Social Prescribing Day.
During the week, organisations from across the country shared inspiring stories that demonstrate the effectiveness of social prescribing, as well as resources designed to help social prescribers.
Moving Medicine shared their award-winning Consultation Guides, designed to help healthcare professionals working in any setting have better conversations with their patients about physical activity. These free, evidence-based and condition-specific resources present key clinical evidence in a behavioural change framework and can be adapted to suit any consultation.
