Promotion of exercise alongside dietary measures to help obesity crisis
Scottish Daily Mail 23rd March 2018
The FSEM (UK) responded to political editor Michael Blackley’s questions about the Scottish ‘healthier future’ proposals is the Scottish Daily Mail on the 23rd March 2018. The Faculty’s main objective here is to raise the profile of exercise in preventing the many conditions associated with obesity, urging policy makers and stakeholders to give policies surrounding the promotion of regular physical activity as much importance as sugar reduction and dietary measures in tackling obesity.
The FSEM (UK) supports the need for addressing dietary measures alongside exercise and welcomes the many initiatives from the Scottish Government to encourage a regular increase in physical activity.
