NICE Update Head Injury Guidelines

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published updated guidelines on the management of head injury.

The guidelines which serve to set standards for high quality healthcare can be used by the NHS, local authorities, employers, voluntary groups and anyone else involved in delivering care or promoting wellbeing.

“The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust, a division of The Disabilities Trust, responded to the consultation and is pleased with NICE’s decision to update the 2007 guidelines (NICE Clinical Guideline 56).  The Trust believes that appropriate guidance can lead to early detection of head injury and treatment of life-threatening brain injuries.”
