Faculty Awards Two New Honorary Fellows
The Faculty awarded two new Honorary Fellows at the Royal College of Physicians London on the 28th September, Dr John (Jumbo) Jenner and Professor Angus Wallace received the awards for their outstanding contribution to the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Dr Jumbo Jenner has had a distinguished career in sport and exercise medicine contributing significantly to the development of the specialty by standard setting through examination, his role on the FSEM (UK) Council, clinical service development and research. During his career, he has contributed to 8 books and over 30 research papers.
Professor Angus Wallace, is a leading figure in British orthopaedic surgery, academic research and sport medicine. For 35 years Angus pioneered cutting edge research in orthopaedic inventions as Professor of Orthopaedic and Accident Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences of the University of Nottingham. Angus has published over 300 research papers and trained over 30 expert shoulder surgeons.
The specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine has benefited greatly from both Jumbo and Angus' contributions across their careers.
