Faculty’s Simon Kemp explains the health benefits of cycling

In a recent article on the BBC’s Health website, FSEM Fellow Dr Simon Kemp talked journalist James Gallacher through the many health benefits of cycling.

Following the success of Britain’s Bradley Wiggins at the Tour de France, fellow cycling fanatic Simon explained that the sport is an easy way to increase health.
In particular, he highlighted that “there’s very strong evidence for people with very low initial physical fitness that it can result in significant reductions in cardiovascular-disease mortality.”
