Faculty Past President Awarded OBE

The Faculty would like to congratulate Fellow and Past President Dr Roderick Jaques on receiving an OBE for services to Olympic and Paralympic Sport in the 2020 New Year Honours list.

The award recognises Dr Jaques’ achievements over a 30-year career in sports medicine. Dr Jaques is the Director of Medical Services at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) and attended five Olympic Games with the British team.

Dr Jaques was President of the faculty from 2012 to 2015, and is the author of our Professional Code for sport and exercise medicine in the UK.

The Faculty would like to extend its warmest congratulations to Dr Jaques for his tremendous ongoing contribution to the specialty, and for this well-deserved honour.
