E-Petition: NHS services for people who do sport or exercise
FSEM Fellow Dr Leon Creaney has started a government e-petition to increase NHS services for people who do sport or exercise.
While the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM)was created as a London 2012 bid commitment, SEM services are currently available in limited NHS areas. With London 2012’s health legacy looking to increase the number of people participating in sport and exercise, those signing the petition will be putting their name to the belief that everyone in the UK should have access to a SEM service via their GP or Emergency Department
The petition must reach 100,000 signatures, and if this happens within the stipulated year time frame, the e-petition could be debated in the House of Commons.
