Diploma in MSK Medicine Syllabus

The Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK in partnership with the Primary Care Rheumatology & Musculoskeletal Medicine Society (PCRMM) are delighted to present the syllabus for our upcoming Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine.

The syllabus forms the basis for our upcoming Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine, an examination and associated qualification that will be launched in early 2021. This Diploma will set the standard for MSK knowledge across the breadth of primary care; a benchmark against which both commissioners and patients can quality assure.

We recognise that musculoskeletal injury (MSKI) is a significant presentation in Primary Care, yet there is no consistent teaching in Medical Schools or General Practice Registrar training. We want to promote a more physically active nation and must ensure that MSKI is not a barrier to active participation at any level and at any age.

The syllabus represents many years’ work from multiple people. We would particularly like to thank lead author Dr Richard Collins for his exceptional work on the project, as well as co-authors Dr Louise Warburton, Dr Chris Tomlinson and many other from both PCRMM and the faculty.

View or download the syllabus here, and be sure to check this site for details of the first Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine exam coming in early 2021.
