FSEM (UK) Membership Examination in Sport and Exercise Medicine
The Membership Exam in Sport and Exercise Medicine is designed to assess knowledge, skills, competence and professional attitudes required of a doctor who wishes to practice as a Sport and Exercise Medicine physician in the United Kingdom.
Passing parts 1 and 2 of the FSEM (UK) Membership Exam is a requirement for an application to Membership (MFSEM) and it is part of the requirements for Fellowship (FFSEM).
Examination
There are two parts to the yearly exam run by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) on behalf of the FSEM (UK). Full information, closing dates and the booking process can be found on the RCSEd Examinations pages for Part 1 and for Part 2.
Part 1
The next part 1 exam will be held on Tuesday 5 September 2023. Booking links will be posted here once available, or can be found on the RCSEd website here.

Candidates must pass the part 1 exam before applying for part 2
Passing the exam is an essential criteria for obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CTC) in SEM.
