Annual Conference – Hear the Dragon Roar

Hear the Dragon Roar is the 2nd joint conference of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) and Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM). It will be held in Cardiff on the 12 and 13 November 2015.

The conference will include presentations on a multidisciplinary approach to the management of complex conditions, with an in depth look into the following areas: the Disabled athlete, the Older athlete, the Adolescent Athlete, Exercise for Health and Contact Sports. (A full conference programme will be published soon)

The educational programme will have a key note address each day and emphasis will be on evidence based medicine with a combination of instructional lectures and hands on workshops, with sessions run by the European College of Sport and Exercise Physicians (ECOSEP), the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK (FSEM), UK Association of Doctors in Sport (UKADIS) and the Undergraduate Society of Sport and Exercise Medicine  (USEMS). Scientific paper and poster presentations and a members’ topic session will be running again this year.

A multidisciplinary faculty will present the latest developments in Sport and Exercise Medicine, including new and emerging research, the comprehensive programme will be delivered by speakers with a wealth of expertise from around the UK and abroad.

The conference is aimed at all healthcare professionals involved in the provision of sport and exercise medicine services to the population, such as SEM doctors, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, GPs with a special interest, Sport Scientists, Physiologists and Sports Therapists, with the objective of enhancing delegates knowledge in managing health issues within these groups and within the general population.
