Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine UK 2019 Strategy
FSEM UK’s Vision, Mission and Objectives as set out by the President and Council of the Faculty is to grow the health of the nation through physical activity with ambitions to become a Royal College that will support that vision. The objective is to lead the NHS’s exercise medicine and enhance physical activity in the UK by using trained SEM Consultants. The Faculty is better equipped to do this because we are the governing body with access to both government and academic bodies that can influence policy. Please see our Strategy document
Our Role in Healthcare
Sport and Exercise Medicine involves the medical care of injury and illness in sport and exercise and has a large scale application in improving the health of the general public through musculoskeletal medicine, exercise advice and prescription (Exercise Medicine).

SEM doctors can treat a wide range of patients from athletes and teams, at all levels, through to those recovering from and managing common conditions or injury.
