Faculty Announces President Elect
The FSEM (UK) is pleased to announce that Dr John Etherington has been appointed as President Elect. The appointment followed a process of nominations by Members and Fellows of the Faculty in December 2017.
Dr John Etherington OBE, MSc, FFPMRCA, FFSEM, FRCP, L/RAMC is the Director of Defence Rehabilitation and a Consultant in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.
Dr Etherington’s work has included early stage rehabilitation of complex trauma patients with operational injuries as well as the prediction of musculo-injury in a military population. Dr Etherington was Vice President of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine and National Clinical Director for Rehabilitation for NHS England. He is the Defence Consultant Advisor in Rheumatology and Rehabilitation and Sport and Exercise Medicine, and the Chairman of the Surgeon General’s Defence Musculo-skeletal Health Advisory Group.
The President Elect joined the FSEM (UK) Executive Council on the 1st December and will take up the position of President at the end of 2018.
